First off: Big up's to WonderMike for putting MoonWalkers down to battle at SSN again this year!

It's allways good to see improvement in event's and this year's SouthSide Battle was definitely better then last year's.

Had the pleasure to Judge this year with Hans (Caballeros) and Max ( 0371 Crew)! It's not an easy task especially when you're judgeing something as personal, individual and unique as bboying but i did my best and hope everybody could respect my call's. The level was good! I saw some crazy young cat's from germany for the first time. Tristan (FunkyFly) is going to be a beast if he keeps it up.

The Jam Volume 3, Budapest

The pre-party

On Friday night Woo-D rocked a club called Intact, in the city center, I guess I got there late because I didn’t see any other bboys there. None the less, had fun, Woo-D came correct! Also everytime I’m in Budapest I meet a freak in a party or a jam, this time no different so the legacy continues.

The Setup

Promoted by B-girl Dori, one of the most visibile faces pushing forward the BBoying/Bgirling scene in Hungary, “The Jam” never fails to impress and satisfy. Built on the most basic principles: dope music, dope location, good vibes this event delivers on every aspect.

DJ’ Woo-D and Q-Cee did they’re thing, keeping the cyphers flowing with dope music from start to end.

Judges we’re MG (HastaLaMuerte/BBoyspot, Slovakia), Pluto ( RuffneckAttack, Ukraine ) and Ju-One ( Hungary ) and speaker for the night Wolfie (Hungary )

The competition

The crew battle was hype. 48 crew entered, 16 qualified after a 1’st showcase battle round. Polska bboys rocked right and won the whole thing against Yugoslavia BBoys.

7 to smoke Exibitions

Didn’t catch the TopRock and Power 7’s so I can’t tell you about those. Sorry.

Footwork. Sushi smoked seven and took home the title. Some fresh flows and dope patterns from the participants. It was a pleasure to be part of the bboys taking part in it.

Bgirl. Evi took home the gold after a tie-breaker . B-girls are coming up hard.

All-round. Franke/Freakquency Romanian smoked 7, in one of the greatest showing of skill of a Romanian bboy on an international stage ever. Domination is the correct word to describe it.

Downside

The waiting. The waiting. The waiting. At times it seems like the waiting will never stop. 3 hours between your 1^st and 2^nd battle is just too much. That’s the only thing I head people complaining about.

Upside

Everything. The event is as positive as it gets for real HipHop and bboying in Hungary and the region. We need more like it.

Conclusion

“The Jam “ is getting bigger and better every year. Why? Because the jam is good, the people doing it put in the work and do it for the passion and pleasure. Because bboy’s get it and support. There where probably and equal number, if not greater, of bboy/bgirls coming from outside Hungary to jam. Nuff said.

On a personal note big ups to my MoonWalkers and to all the Romania crews that came to get down.

To the jam.
Biggest dissapointment of the night was the "StandUp" battle. People didn't understand the concept. The whole thing was structured into a million sections with a ton of contestants. CHOREO was the central theme of the whole thing, the music, for me, was good at times but must of the time shiteos. Most enoying of all it was too damn LONG! Organizers need to make these StandUp/pop choreography shorter and more to the point. This section killed the vibe of the whole event, even the constestants seemed bored and not enjoying it! I respect the initiative of trying to get people to just dance, improvise.. but this was no different to me, in many aspects than a standard choreo contest.

To the bboying part.

The floor was dope. Location was the best looking I saw so far at a Oradea event. Big progress from previous events ( allthough the undeground parking battles there had they're own good vibe ) this one looked like you can really a party there.

Raffu was killing it as usual. I can't stress enough about the importance of the DJ at a Jam. Organizers, if you want to do a good bboy event, you priority is the DJ! Get a DJ that knows his shit first, then go on to other things.

Competitions we're hot. Enjoyed the Kids' battle. I'm seeing kids evolving from jam to jam and that's allways a good thing.

I entered my first seven2smoke. Have to recognize, doing a 7tosmoke is some serious bussiness. I knew it would be hard but this 'ish surpassed my worst expectations. :)) I am blessed and humbled to have won it, clinching a tie in the last round against bboys Chaos and winning the tie-breaker. Big ups to the people for giving good energy in the end.

2 on 2' was good. Numb/Click took it the end vs Chinez/Commy. Unfortunately by that time the venue was all but empty. Everybody was going home as soon as they we're eliminated. What's up with that?

Big ups to the organizers and to Deli, Marius, Rebe, Lavi, Geo, Omar and Raffu who made the trip. Had a good time!

The MoonWalkersCrew, established in 1995, is known and respected for it's achievements and contributions to the Romanian HipHop/BBoying scene, as well as setting the pace for the evolution of bboying in Romania. The crew took to the international scene in 2001 while reprezenting at Battle Of The Year Eastern Europe in Poland, thus becoming the first romanian crew to compete abroad, among many other national firsts and accolades.

On the 27th we plan to celebrate our achievements, founders, friendship, family, culture, love for the dance with our friends, in the only way we know how! Keeping it real! Keeping it Fresh! Going back to the roots and throwing a monster party!
Everybody's invited, fantastic times included!

This anniverary party is going down as the hottest in history! Nothing more, nothing less. MoonWalkers style! Real Recognize Real - Rezumat

Am avut placerea sa calatoresc cu Deli, Marius, Cristi, Raffu, Omar, Lavi si Iulian la Belgrad pentru "Real Recognize Real", un bboy jam organizat de Bursa, Luka si Recognize.

Drumul:

Pentru cei care intentioneaza pe viitor sa ajunga prin Serbia pot sa va spun ca prin vama se trece relativ repede daca ai toate actele in regula. Drumurile sunt bune dar limita de viteza in oras este de 40 si in afara 80km/h. E destul de greu daca nu imposibil sa depasesti in conditiile legale, in plus daca depasesti limita legala cu mai mult de 50 la ora intri direct la puscarie! Bine de stiu! Din Timisoara pana in Belgrad cu masina faci in jur de 3 ore. Belgradul e cu 1 ora in urma deci castigi o ora la dus. Preturile la tot sunt mai mici ca in Romania.

Eventul:

Locatia pentru event a fost hala unei fabrici din 1836 semiparasite, undeva pe la etajul 5. Solul era un fel de linoleu mai gros, bun pentru dansat. Sonorizarea OK. DJ's Raffu, Sushi si Vojganskee. Judges au fost alesi la fata locului: Chamel, Omar si Bursa. MC: Luka

Era suficient de multa lume pentru dimensiunile salii, majoritatea bboyz/bgirls.
Au fost 3 competii: powermoves, footwork si 2vs2 Random.
2vs2'u asta functiona astfel: la inceputul fiecarei runde se trag la sorti echipe de 2. Castigatorii merg mai departe in runda 2 unde se extrag noi echipe si asa mai departe pana in finala.

Muzica a fost hype toata ziua/noaptea. Raffu se pare ca fost DJ'u principal si a pus muzica mai la toate battleurile. Lumea a dansat si s-a simtit bine. Personal am participat la footwork si la 2v2. La footwork am ajuns cumva pana in semifinale si la 2v2 in finala. Sistemu asta random e foarte distractiv!

A avut loc si un after party undeva pe Dunare pe un vapor la care eu nu am mai ramas. Cand o sa aflu detalii, impresii si pareri o sa le comunic mai departe!

Un eveniment reusit as spune eu. Am intalnito si pe Bgirl Dora din Ungaria, intotdeauna o placere! Felicitari organizatorilor si DJ'ilor pentru atmosfera! Cu siguranta vom mai merge in Serbia la events cand se va ivi ocazia.

Reprezent! a "reprezentat" la al 3'lea eveniment de la lansare!

Am avut norocul si deosebita placere sa fim invitati de catre BBoy Michele/Move Mafia! Drumul ca de obicei l-am facut cu ReprezentMobilul ( orice vehicul cu care ne caram spre si de la battle va purta deacum inainte aceasta denumire ) 14 ore pana in Germania!

Pentru cei care nu vreti sa iesiti din tara.. va aduc la cunostinta ca TUICA romaneasca este ILEGALA in strainatate, neavand timbru fiscal.. amenzile mergand de la 250-10000 de euro in functie de cantitatea pe care o transportati!

Eventul a inceput pe la ora 17.00, intr-0 locatie mijto, o hala fara pereti, deci ceva gen indoor dar totusi outdoor. Pacat ca era frig!

Solul: placi PFL laminat ( ca la GetFresh ) si inca cateva bucati de linoleu pe langa. DJ Ice-C a fost responsabil cu muzica si zic eu ca sa descurcat decent! Judges: DavidColas, JenzThaBoogie si Schini. Remo/Juice/Flo au reprezentat MoonWalkers in battleul 3 vs 3. Am pierdut eventual vs. BloodSyndycate ( Hakan, Flexhaloic + 1 bboy care nu iam retinut numerele ). Castigatorii eventului: Nin10Do! Props!

Standul a avut mare succes in mare parte datorita "promovarii" agresive facute de remo si flo! ( 1 love family! ). Incet, reusimt sa promovam si sa crestem brandul in plan international!. Trebuie sa-i multumesc Indirei pentru ajutorul acordat la vanzare!

AfterParty'u a fost ciudat cel putin. In primu rand la intrare bodyguardu nu a vrut sa ma lase sa intru pentru ca "eram imbracat prea sport". Aveam Suede's in picioare cu Dickies ( pantaloni de stofa ) si tricou Reprezent! Foarte amuzanta treaba mai ales ca inaunrtu erau niste baieti in costumatie full de fotbal, in slapi si etc! Muzika a fost de club, lumea a dansat si sa simtit bine!

Ca de obicei MW nu poate vizita germania fara cateva vizite la spa'urile din zona BadenWurtenberg! Daca sunteti vreodata pe langa Stuttgart si vreti sa va relaxati cum nu v-ati mai relaxat pana acum treceti pe la Panorama Thermen Beuren! Mai ieftin ca o zi de strand dar de 100x mai relaxant mai ales dupa un battle!

In concluzie: mii de multumiri lui Michele pentru ca a facut posibil acest drum, Remo & family pentru ospitalitate, Indira & Delia pentru ajutor. Much love to Flo & Rebe, Andy99, Mark2, CrazyGabi!

Am fost cazati la hotelLux la 20 de metrii de Locatia principala. Aici au stat toti invitatii. Pretul foarte rezonabil. In hotel au avut loc si primele 2 after-partyz.

Ziua 1:

Conform programului sunt programate 4 workshops de la 12-18.00. Multumita in parte politiei maghiare am ajuns tarziu in Banska Bystrica am pierdut workshopul lui roxrite, am prins doar finalul workshopului lui KidDavid si am participat la Keebz. Pretul workshopului 15E, mai mult decat rezonabil.
Keebz Workshop!
Worshopul a fost interesant, combinand 3 elemente de toprock, 3 go downs, 3 pasi de footwork intr-un routine.. si bineinteles explicatii si sugestii de variatii in miscari si opinii personale despre dans si miscare in general.

Dupa workshop am aflat ca MexOne va tine o sesiune de discutii pe tem HipHop Culture. Pentru cei care nu sunteti familiarizati MexOne este membru al UniqueStyles si unul dintre fondatorii BBoyWorld.com(in prezent nu mai are nici o legatura ), in prezent co-owner impreuna cu spen1 al thebboyspot.com si liniile de imbracaminte bboyspot si biggest&baddest.

Discutiile au decurs cronologic incepand cu ani 60, abordand mediul socio-cultural din care s-a nascut hiphop'ul ( Revoltele din Watts 66, miscarea Panterelor Negre ) si evolutia sociala in legatura cu evolutia HipHop'ului. De asemenea a adus mai multe carti care ilustreaza starea generala a vremurilor. A vorbit despre importanta documentarelor de gen StyleWars, ca fiind unic prin faptul ca ilustreaza nealterat starea de spirit si mentalitatea din hiphop'ul anilor respectivi. Alt subiect de discutie a fost modul in care hiphop'ul si bboyingul in special a fost dus aproape de extinctie prin ultra-comercializare.

Documentarul RedBull...

Nu as vrea sa spun prea multe despre chestia asta.. care ma dus cu gandul direct la discutia despre comercializarea bboyingului pana intr-un punct inacceptabil. Personal nu am rezistat sa urmaresc mai mult de 25 de minute.. si probabil nu il voi relua niciodata.

AfterParty in hotel. Am stat 2 secunde dupa care somn.

Ziua 2 - Pre-liminarii pentru toate competitiile.

Oamenii de la thebboyspot.eu au fost super ok si au permis sa imi amenjez un stand pentru tricouri si celelalte produse Reprezent101! Multumesc pentru support!

Trebuie sa spun ca a venit putina lume pentru un eveniment asa de mare. in principiu erau 95% numai bboyz in locatie.. ceea ce e dope pentru bboyz dar destul de dzastruos pentru organizatori.

Intrarea trebuia sa inceapa la 12.00 dar a inceput pe la 14.00. la 2vs2 s-au inscris 108 crewz, FooWork - 102, Bgirl - 26. Preliminariile se desfasurau in stil showcase dupa care juriul alege finalistii pentru day 2. 16 crewz la 2 on 2, 8 la footwork si 8 la bgirl. Preliminariile astea au durat enorm de mult.
Afara a apaurt un live drumming band pentru cypheru outdoor. Super tare!

Day 3 - Finalele

Din nou a inceput cu o usoara intarziere. Au fost cyphere micute toata ziua.
Battleurile au fost hardcore! Toate crewurile au venit pregatite. Destul de apropiate battleurile la 2 on 2. Inainte de finala Kleju s-a accidentat destul de urat la picior. Juriul a vrut initial ca adversarii lor din semifinala sa ii inlocuiasca dar ChuChu a cerut sa fie lasat sa danseze singur pentru ca a castigat pe drept locul in finala si nu vrea sa il cedeze. Trebuie sa recunosc ca initial am crezut ca ar fi mai bine ca ceilalti sa danseze in locul lui, pentru a avea o competitie mai stransa in finala, dar ChuChu avea dreptate, si-a meritat locul si si-a jucat sansa. In finala s-a reprezentat foarte bine impotriva celor de la RuffNeck! Respect!
Bgirl battleul a fost la un nivel pe care nu l-am intalnit in competii de gen. Pentru mine au iesit in evidenta Alexandrina, Nadia si Sofia dar toate fetele au fost on point.
Footwork battle. Semifinalele au fost HOT. Finala a fost buna dar se vedea ca ori erau un pic obositi ori au ramas fara munitie.

Winners: 2on2RuffneckAttac (Ukraina), Bgirl: Nadia, FootWork: Intact Premiile au fost masive in cash si produse printre care si Tshirt si accesorii Reprezent!

Official AfterParty - Club Ministry of Fun

OFF DA HOOK! DJ Renegade la platane! Clubul plin cu bboyz si bgirls, muzica diversa, atmosfera super placuta! Unul dintre cele mai faine afterpartys de pana acum. Lumea a stat pana pe la 5 dimineata.

In final!

A fost o placere sa fiu prezent la acest eveniment in companie buna (Deli, Raffu, Remo, Flo, Rebe, Michele, Plastel, DJ Woo-D, Omar). Am invatat chestii noi, am vazut locuri noi, cunoscut lume noua si trait o noua experienta unica. Ma bucur ca DLT'u a fost prezent si sper ca pe viitor cati mai multi sa reusim sa iesim la events.

Multumesc din nou MG, MK si thebboyspot.eu pentru oportunitatea de a avea un stand Reprezent la OutBreak, Mex pentru knowledge si ca si-a facut timp sa discutam si sa imi dea sfaturi pentru linia de imbracaminte. Big props pentru eveniment!
